APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Graduation application deadlines:
  • Spring graduates (participating in Spring Commencement Ceremony) – January 31
  • Summer graduates (participating in Fall Commencement Ceremony) – April 30
  • Fall graduates (participating in Fall Commencement Ceremony) – October 1

If a student does not plan to participate in the graduation ceremony but wishes to receive a certificate, diploma, or degree, he/she is still required to complete the application.

Apply for Graduation

Once a graduation application has been submitted, the submission will be e-mailed to the appropriate program coordinator to verify a student’s eligibility to graduate.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

Candidates for an associate degree, diploma, or certificate must fulfill the general requirements of the program of study in which he/she is enrolled. Candidates must complete these requirements with an overall grade point average of 2.0 or above on all work completed at Fletcher and all work accepted as credit toward the fulfillment of the program requirements. In addition, candidates for an Associate of General Studies must complete the concentration area with a 2.5 grade point average.

Candidates must complete all graduation requirements as stated in the College catalog available to students on the College’s website. Candidates who are completing the highest exit level available in the program from which they are graduating must complete an exit exam to be eligible for graduation. Graduating students must be free of debt to the college. Graduating students must be approved by the faculty advisor, respective academic dean, the Vice Chancellor of Academics, and the Registrar’s Office.

CEREMONY INFORMATION

A graduation ceremony is held twice a year: in May for those students completing in the spring, and in December for those completing in the summer and fall. Candidates who submit applications are notified of the commencement ceremony by email. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that Student Affairs and Enrollment Services ha his/her correct contact information. Candidates who wish to participate in the ceremony will need to purchase a cap and gown.

GRAD DAY

Grad Day is an opportunity for students to celebrate their academic achievements while preparing for commencement. The event features food, music, giveaways, as well as activities designed to help students finalize graduation and financial aid requirements. Graduates can take cap and gown photos, connect with alumni, explore job placement resources, and receive important information about the upcoming ceremony.

  • Grad Day – Schriever Campus, March 4, 2026

For those participating in Fall 2026 Commencement

  • Grad Day – Thibodaux Campus, September 15, 2026
  • Grad Day – Schriever Campus, September 16, 2026
     
The Spring 2026 Ceremony deadline to purchase a cap and gown is April 3, 2026.
