Accommodations and Disability Services

Accommodations and Disability Services

The Office of Disability Services at Fletcher serves as an advocate for students with documented disabilities to help them make a smooth transition to college and ensure equal access to the programs, services, activities, and facilities offered by the college. Students with disabilities are encouraged to contact the Director of Enrollment, Advising and Retention, prior to the beginning of their enrollment at Fletcher.

Approved Accommodations

Accommodations are based on the diagnosis and documentation received by the Office of Disability Services. Students who need classroom accommodations must self identify to the institution and supply the appropriate documentation. Accommodation contracts, which describe the student’s needed classroom accommodations, will be developed with the student and shared with their faculty.

Steps to Receive Accommodations

  1. Complete the Application for Disability Services
  2. Upload/Submit Documentation (documentation must be no older than three years)
  3. Approval or Denial of Services will be communicated with student via email
  4. Students will receive their approved accommodations contract via email for review. All contracts are sent to the students preferred email specified in LoLA.
  5. Students must sign the contract stated they too agree with the accommodations requested. Once the contract is signed it will be sent to their current semester instructors. An official copy will also get shared with the student electronically for distribution if needed.
