- Step 2: After applying to become a student at Fletcher you will be issued a student I.D. number which you will need to log into LoLA. Once logged into LoLA, choose Summer 2021 and type in Professional Development then the course will appear so you can register for it. The course will start on May 18, 2021, and end on August 10th. The next Notary exam according to the Louisiana Secretary of State’s Office is Sep 25, 2021.
Course Description: This course is intended to prepare students to take the Louisiana State Notary Public Examination. The exam is usually given the first Saturday in June and December each year. However, the Covid19 pandemic has caused delays and the next exam will be given September 25, 2021. The course will review the Louisiana Notary Public Examination Official Study Guide Titled Fundamentals of Louisiana Notarial Law and Practice. All students are expected to have a copy and to bring it to class each time the class meets. The course will also use practice exams taken from actual exams in prior years as well as samples of common forms used by Notaries in their everyday practice. Students will also receive instruction on how to navigate through the Louisiana Civil Code, the structure of the Louisiana Court System, and the rules governing Notaries in Louisiana. The course meets once a week for three (3) hours each Tuesday for Thirteen (13) weeks. Students should also be aware that success on the exam will require extensive reading outside the classroom as part of the preparation.
Meeting Location/Days and Times: Schriever Main Campus Room 203 every Tuesday night (Starting on May 18, 2021 from 6 PM – 9 PM)

Exam Information: It is highly recommended that students take the Notary Exam Pre-Assessment before taking the exam. The pre-assessment is mandatory before taking the exam through the Secretary of State.
