Electrician Program provides basic to advanced specialized instruction and practical shop experience to prepare students for employment within the various electrical trades. The program consists of technical courses designed to develop skills in installation, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment, fixtures, and wiring. The program emphasizes safe and efficient work practices by including a study of all applicable electrical codes, standards, blueprint/wiring diagram interpretation, electrical theory, and various installation/construction processes appropriate to each area of expertise. Due to the nature of the program, prospective students should be in good physical health, able to lift 75-100 pounds, able to distinguish colors, able to work from ladders, and able to do a variety of multiple tasks.
