A shared workspace at The Nest Business Incubator in Downtown Houma offers space for entrepreneurs to work, connect and collaborate. Managed by Fletcher Technical Community College in partnership with Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government, The Nest is scheduled to open in early 2027.
(Schriever, LA) – Aspiring and existing entrepreneurs will have a new resource to launch, strengthen and grow their businesses through The Nest, a Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government business incubator in downtown Houma managed by Fletcher Technical Community College.
The Nest brings together business education, mentorship, professional workspace and practical resources to help entrepreneurs build sustainable businesses. Fletcher will oversee the incubator’s programming, drawing on the college’s educational resources and connections with business and industry leaders.
Located on the third floor at 7910 W. Main St., The Nest aims to support economic growth and downtown revitalization by helping local businesses take root and grow. The initiative also supports entrepreneurs rebuilding and growing after Hurricane Ida, contributing to Terrebonne Parish’s long-term economic resilience.
“Starting a business takes vision and determination, but entrepreneurs also need access to guidance, resources and a community that supports their success,” said Dr. Kristine Strickland, chancellor of Fletcher Technical Community College. “Through our partnership with Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government, The Nest will help local entrepreneurs turn their ideas into opportunities, build stronger businesses and contribute to the economic future of our region.”
The Nest is accepting applications for its Falcon Cohort, a 12-month program that will serve 12 entrepreneurs. Applications are due Nov. 30, 2026.
Through monthly workshops, individual mentorship and collaborative activities, participants will develop a business plan covering market research, branding and marketing, business operations and financial planning. The program also includes opportunities to learn from guest speakers, connect with local business leaders and present business plans to potential investors.
Falcon Cohort participants receive dedicated workspace, a laptop for use during the program, access to business and technology resources, and guidance from experienced business owners.
Eligible low- to moderate-income participants can receive the Falcon Cohort program at no cost through disaster recovery funding.
In addition to the Falcon Cohort, The Nest offers options for entrepreneurs seeking more flexible support. Junior Falcon provides a self-paced, 12-month experience with access to workspace, business resources, mentors and fellow entrepreneurs. Pelican Membership offers workspace access, workshops, networking events and business resources through a monthly membership.
