Schriever, LA - Fletcher Technical Community College celebrated a historic milestone this summer as 52 students completed the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program, making the Summer 2026 cohort the largest Associate of Science in Nursing graduating class in the college's history.
The milestone includes graduates from Fletcher's traditional Associate of Science in Nursing program and its LPN-to-RN Bridge pathway. Students were recognized during two Nursing Pinning Ceremonies held July 27, 2026, in the Workforce & Nursing Building on Fletcher's Schriever campus.
The nursing pinning ceremony is a longstanding tradition that symbolizes the completion of a student's nursing education and recognizes the dedication, perseverance and compassion demonstrated throughout the program. Family members, friends, faculty and community supporters gathered to celebrate the graduates' achievements and the next step in their professional journeys.
"This milestone reflects both the growing demand for skilled nurses and Fletcher's commitment to preparing the healthcare workforce our region depends on," said Fletcher Chancellor Dr. Kristine Strickland. "Graduating the largest Associate of Science in Nursing class in our history is a testament to the dedication of our students, the excellence of our faculty and the strong partnerships we share with our healthcare providers."
"Every graduate represents countless hours of classroom instruction, clinical experience and mentorship from our exceptional nursing faculty," said Dean Danielle Vauclin. "We're proud to prepare nurses who enter the workforce with the knowledge, confidence and compassion to provide outstanding care for patients throughout our region."
Fletcher's Associate of Science in Nursing program prepares students with the knowledge, clinical experience and critical thinking skills needed to deliver safe, compassionate patient care in a variety of healthcare settings. Graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN), the final step toward becoming licensed registered nurses.
