Graduates participate in Fletcher Technical Community College's Spring 2026 Commencement Ceremony at the Warren J. Harang Jr. Municipal Auditorium in Thibodaux. The ceremony honored students earning associate degrees, technical diplomas, certificates, and industry-based credentials as they celebrated a significant educational milestone.
Schriever, LA - Fletcher Technical Community College will make history this year by hosting its first-ever Fall Commencement Ceremony, a milestone that reflects the college's continued growth and record levels of student enrollment.
The ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2026, at Warren J. Harang, Jr. Municipal Auditorium in Thibodaux.
For 75 years, Fletcher has provided education and workforce training opportunities that have transformed lives across South Louisiana. As the college celebrates its Diamond Jubilee year, the addition of a fall graduation ceremony marks another significant chapter in its history.
The decision to add a second annual commencement ceremony comes in response to increasing enrollment and a growing number of students earning degrees and credentials throughout the year. The new ceremony will provide graduates and their families with an additional opportunity to celebrate their achievements in a more personalized setting.
"One of the greatest challenges a college can have is finding new ways to celebrate the success of more students," said Chancellor Kristine Strickland. "As Fletcher continues to grow and serve record numbers of students, we felt it was important to create another opportunity to recognize their hard work and accomplishments. Holding our first Fall Commencement during our 75th anniversary year makes this moment even more meaningful because it reflects both how far we've come and the bright future ahead."
The fall ceremony will honor students who complete degree and certificate programs during the summer and fall semesters. It joins Fletcher's longstanding spring commencement ceremony, which has traditionally recognized graduates from across the academic year.
Since its founding in 1951, Fletcher has evolved from a trade school into a comprehensive technical and community college serving thousands of students annually through academic, workforce, and continuing education programs. The addition of a fall commencement ceremony reflects the college's ongoing commitment to student success and its expanding role in meeting the educational and workforce needs of the region.
Additional details regarding the ceremony will be announced later this year.
