Schriever, LA - Fletcher Technical Community College recently celebrated the accomplishments of students completing the college’s WorkReady U program during the Spring 2026 WorkReady U Graduation Ceremony held Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Fletcher’s main campus in Schriever.
The ceremony recognized adult learners who earned high school equivalency credentials, strengthened workforce skills, and took important steps toward continuing their education and career pathways.
Louisiana continues to prioritize increasing educational attainment and workforce readiness through initiatives such as LA Prospers, the state’s long-term higher education master plan focused on improving outcomes for students, families, and regional economies. Programs like WorkReady U play an important role in helping adult learners achieve educational goals while strengthening the state’s workforce pipeline.
“Each of these graduates chose to take the next best step for themselves, their families, and their future,” said Fletcher Chancellor Dr. Kristine Strickland. “Tonight is a celebration of the perseverance and determination it took to keep moving forward, even when the path was not always easy.”
WorkReady U Director Jamie Chauvin, said the graduates demonstrated perseverance while balancing education alongside work, family, and personal responsibilities.
“Everybody gets here a different way,” said Chauvin. “Some came here after years of trying. Some came because life got complicated, and some came because they finally decided it was time. But every one of these stories shows courage.”
