Schriever, LA. - Fletcher Technical Community College celebrated the completion of its 21st cohort of the Certified Line Worker Training Program during a ceremony held Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the Workforce Building on the College’s main campus in Schriever.
The program prepares students for careers as lineworkers, equipping them with the foundational skills needed to enter the workforce as helpers or apprentices with electric utility companies. Graduates earn industry-recognized credentials and receive job placement assistance as they transition into the field.
Chancellor Dr. Kristine Strickland congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to find meaning and pride in their work.
“My hope for these graduates is that they not only succeed in their careers, but that they truly love the work they have chosen,” said Dr. Kristine Strickland. “This is more than a job. It is a career that requires dedication, resilience, and purpose. I hope they take pride in what they do and in the impact they will have on the communities they serve.”
The 21st cohort of graduates includes:
Kade Atkins, Matthew Boyer, Logan Deslatte, Kainan Henderson, Christian Jahn, Draven Jennings, Tristan Pugh, Randy Roberts, Jacob Rochefort, Jayden Romero, Geney Verde, Grant Vaughn, and Tyler Zito.
Serving as keynote speaker, Ronald Rainey, Foreman for Linetec Services, shared his career journey and spoke about the pride and purpose found in the line worker profession, while emphasizing the importance of making safety a top priority as graduates enter the field.
Fletcher’s Certified Line Worker Training Program is a 22-week program that includes Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) training and prepares students to work in demanding environments, including storm restoration and emergency response. The program continues to play a critical role in supporting workforce needs across Louisiana’s energy and infrastructure sectors.
