Schriever, LA - Fletcher Technical Community College is celebrating 75 years of changing lives, and the college is inviting students, alumni, employees, donors, partners, and community members to help mark the milestone by sharing their Fletcher stories.
Since its founding, Fletcher has played a vital role in preparing individuals for meaningful careers while strengthening the communities it serves. Over the past seven decades, thousands of students have walked through Fletcher’s doors, building skills, launching careers, and creating opportunities for themselves and their families.
As part of its 75th Anniversary celebration, Fletcher is collecting stories from people whose lives have been impacted by the college. These stories will help highlight the college’s legacy and the many ways Fletcher has shaped the region through education, workforce training, and community partnerships.
Over the decades, the college has evolved from its early days as South Louisiana Trade School to what is now Fletcher Technical Community College, serving generations of students across the region.
Whether it’s a student who found a career path, an alum whose training opened new opportunities, an employee who helped shape the college, or a partner who worked alongside Fletcher to strengthen the workforce, every story helps tell the larger story of the institution.
“For 75 years, Fletcher has been part of the stories that shape our region,” said Dr. Kristine Strickland, Chancellor of Fletcher Technical Community College. “We invite everyone who has been part of the Fletcher family to share their story and help us celebrate the lives and careers that have been changed along the way.”
Members of the community are invited to submit their stories online by visiting fletcher.edu/75.
Selected stories may be featured throughout Fletcher’s 75th Anniversary celebrations across the college’s website, social media channels, and special events during the anniversary year.
