Employee Onboarding at Fletcher
At Fletcher Technical Community College, onboarding is more than a first-day checklist—it is a welcoming, structured introduction to the people, purpose, and possibilities of our College.
Our New Employee Experience is designed to help you feel connected, informed, and confident as you begin your career at Fletcher. From your very first day, you will have opportunities to learn about the College, meet colleagues across departments, and understand how your role contributes to our students and mission.
A Welcoming Start
Your onboarding begins on your first day of employment with a coordinated, in-person experience that brings together representatives from across the College. You will be introduced to key areas that support employees and students, including Human Resources, Leadership, Information Technology, Marketing, Enrollment and Student Services, Safety and Security, the Foundation, and more.
You will also have dedicated time to connect with your supervisor and department, so you can begin building the relationships and understanding needed to succeed in your new role. Fletcher’s orientation includes college, departmental, and job-specific components, and begins upon hire.
What You Will Learn
During onboarding, you will gain a strong foundation in:
- Fletcher’s mission, values, and culture
- College resources, systems, and support services
- Workplace expectations and important policies
- The ways College departments work together
- Your department’s priorities and your role within the team
- Key relationships and first 30-day expectations
Fletcher also introduces all employees to the College’s Cultural Values, and new employees are welcomed at receptions held at the beginning of the Fall and Spring semesters.
Support Beyond Day One
Our commitment to you does not end after your first two days. Onboarding continues as you transition into your department, learn the details of your position, and grow in confidence and competence in your work. Fletcher’s goal is to help employees feel welcomed, integrated into the College, and successful in their roles as quickly as possible.
