HAZWOPER Operations Level Training

Objective: The HAZWOPER Operations Level Training aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to respond to hazardous materials incidents at the operations level, ensuring their safety and the safety of others while supporting higher-level response efforts.

Summary: This comprehensive course covers the fundamental elements of hazardous materials response at the operations level, including hazard recognition, risk assessment, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, decontamination procedures, and emergency response techniques. Participants will engage in both theoretical learning and hands-on exercises to develop proficiency in operational-level response.

Duration:

  • Course Duration: Typically 24 to 40hrs (3 to 5 days)

  • Schedule: Offered as full-day sessions or segmented sessions based on training needs.

Regulation Reference: including but not limited to:

  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations for hazardous waste operations and emergency response (29 CFR 1910.120).

  • National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards for hazardous materials operations.
