Fletcher Student Laptop Programs
Fletcher Technical Community College is changing the way laptops are made available to students.
The current Library Laptop Lending Program will end following the Fall 2026 semester. Fletcher is developing two new options to help students have access to the technology they need for their education:
- Student Laptop Purchase Program
- Students will have the opportunity to purchase a laptop through Fletcher at a substantial savings.
- Fletcher Laptop Scholarship Program
- Eligible students experiencing financial hardship will have the opportunity to apply for a laptop scholarship. Scholarship laptops will consist of previously used Fletcher laptops and will be available to qualifying students at no cost for use while enrolled at Fletcher.
Additional details about both programs will be posted on this page as they become available.
Current Library Laptop Borrowers
Students who currently have a laptop through the Library Laptop Lending Program may continue using their laptop through the Fall 2026 semester.
Important Return Dates
October 7, 2026
- Session 1 students who are not enrolled in Session 2 should return their laptop by October 7.
- Students who are enrolled in Session 2 or for the remainder of the Fall semester may continue using the laptop.
December 14, 2026
- All laptops issued through the Library Laptop Lending Program must be returned no later than December 14.
Before returning your laptop, please save any personal documents, photos, or other files you wish to keep. Data remaining on returned laptops will be erased as part of Fletcher's device preparation process.
Student Laptop Purchase Program
Fletcher is developing a new program that will allow students to purchase a laptop directly through the College.
Unlike the former Library Laptop Lending Program, laptops purchased through this program will belong to the student and will not need to be returned to Fletcher.
Students will be able to select an available payment option, which may include:
- Credit or debit card
- Electronic Check
- Eligible financial aid
- Fletcher payment plan
Once payment or funding has been approved by the Fletcher Business Office, the student will be notified when the laptop is available for pickup.
Students will be required to present identification and acknowledge receipt of the laptop at pickup.
Support and Warranty
Purchased laptops are personally owned devices and will not be managed or maintained by Fletcher IT.
The laptop will include the manufacturer's warranty provided with the device. Fletcher does not provide any additional hardware warranty, accidental damage coverage, repair coverage, or replacement coverage.
Fletcher IT will continue to assist students with College-related technology issues, including Fletcher accounts, College-provided software and services, wireless access, and other Fletcher technology resources.
Laptop specifications, pricing, availability, and purchasing instructions will be posted here when the program launches.
Fletcher Laptop Scholarship Program
Fletcher is also developing a Laptop Scholarship Program to help eligible students experiencing financial hardship who may otherwise have difficulty obtaining a computer.
Students approved for the program will receive a previously used Fletcher laptop for use while attending Fletcher.
Scholarship laptops:
- Are previously used equipment and may have normal cosmetic wear.
- Will be checked by Fletcher IT for basic functionality before being issued.
- Are provided as-is and do not include a warranty or accidental damage coverage.
- Remain the property of Fletcher Technical Community College.
- Must be returned when the student completes their studies or is no longer enrolled at Fletcher.
Availability will be limited.
Eligibility requirements and application instructions will be posted here when the Laptop Scholarship Program launches.
