Scholarships are available at Fletcher; however, they are limited.  The Financial Aid Office provides information and assistance to students in meeting their scholarship needs.

Fletcher Scholarships

Claude Daspit LPN Scholarship Fund: Applicants selected for this scholarship must be pursuing the following degree option: Officially accepted into Practical Nursing. Requirements: 2.5 GPA, Full time or part time student

The Broadway Elder Living and Rehabilitation Scholarship: Applicants selected for this scholarship must be pursuing the following degree options: Nursing, Nursing Assistant, and Practical Nursing. Requirements: 2.5 GPA, Full time student.

Follett Scholarships: Applicants selected for this scholarship must be pursuing the following degree options: all. Requirements: 2.5 GPA, Full time or part time student. First time freshmen are encouraged to apply.

GAP Scholarship: This scholarship opportunity is for students who receive financial aid (Pell), but their aid falls short in covering all their expenses (i.e. textbooks, tuition and fees). They must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours, be in good Academic Standing, Judicial Standing, and meet Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Policy. Requirements: 2.0 GPA, part time student

George & Alice Clauer Scholarship: Applicants selected for this scholarship must be pursuing the following degree option: Cardiopulmonary Care Science. Requirements: 2.75 GPA, Full time student (pending funding availability)

Gordon “Bubba” Dove: Applicants selected for this scholarship must be pursuing the following degree options: Oil Service Industry, Machining, Welding, Marine Diesel, or a Business related field. Requirements: 2.5 GPA, Full time student

HAAS Scholarship: Applicants selected for this scholarship must be pursuing the following degree option: Machine Tool. Requirements: 2.5 GPA, Full time student

Jared Gravois Scholarship: Applicants selected for this scholarship must be pursuing  the following degree option: Integrated Production Technologies. Requirements: Must have graduated from Thibodaux High School, 2.5 GPA, Community Service, Full time student.

South Louisiana Bank Business & Service Scholarship: Applicants selected for this scholarship must be pursuing the following degree option: Accounting, Business Administration, or Office System Technology. Requirements: Full-time Student (at least 12 cr hrs), must be a resident of Lafourche or Terrebonne Parishes and demonstrate financial need. Once awarded, students must maintain a 3.0 overall grade point average to maintain the scholarship.

Stephanie Percle Single Parents Scholarship: Applicants selected for this scholarship must be pursuing the following degree option: Nursing. Requirements: 3.0 GPA, Full time or part time student

United Veterans League Scholarship: Applicants selected for this scholarship must be pursuing the following degree options: any. Requirements: A family member must be a veteran i.e. immediate to extended family member, must attach a copy of DD214 or proof of military service, and need based; Full time or part time student can apply

External Scholarships

ASSOCIATE HOME LOAN SCHOLARSHIP: The Associates Home Loan Scholarship was created with our future leaders in mind. Associates Home Loan understands that college prices are rising every year and this scholarship serves the purpose of helping one student lower their tuition expenses by $1000 and to educate the future self employed individuals about their options when it comes to self employed loans and alternative credit options. Applicants will be required to answer a simple question in the form of a 500-word essay and the winner will be selected based on the essay submitted. The Associate Home Loan Scholarship committee will select a winner by the end of April 2019. The $1000 will be sent directly to the winner’s school financial aid department. Eligibility: High school students graduating in 2018 that have been accepted into a college, university, or trade school. Students currently enrolled in a college, university, or trade school that have not yet reached their final year. Guidelines: Associates Home Loan wants to hear your answer to this question, “ What does your dream house look like?” Don’t hold back on details. This should be a short essay of no more than 500 words. Submission Deadline: March 31, 2019.

AUTOMOTIVE AFTERMARKET SCHOLARSHIP CENTRAL: The University of the Aftermarket Foundation operates the Automotive Aftermarket Scholarships Central website and, along with more than 40 other automotive organizations, awards scholarships to students who apply online. Apply for Automotive Scholarships by the March 31, 2018 deadline at  Available scholarships range from $1,000-$10,000 and will be awarded to students attending colleges and ASE/NATEF certified post-secondary Automotive, Collision, HD, or Alternate Fuel programs.  The scholarships are open to full time post-secondary students. Graduating high school seniors and former recipients are welcome to apply. Each completed scholarship application is reviewed by the organizations where the student meets the qualifications.  Last year, more than 50 students received multiple awards from one application.

BATON ROUGE AREA FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS: Donors with scholarships at the Baton Rouge Area Foundation want to help you. They believe the more you learn, the more prosperous you will be, and that you’ll enrich the communities you live in, especially those right here in Louisiana.

BIG SCHOLARSHIP: Bayou Industrial Group, Inc. (BIG) may award a scholarship to a high school senior who will be enrolled as a full-time student at Fletcher in the fall semester immediately following high school graduation. BIG sends scholarship rules and applications to each public and private high school in Lafourche, Terrebonne, and Assumption parishes in the spring with a stated deadline for submission. BLAINE BARRILLEAUX SCHOLARSHIP: The Law Offices of Blaine Barrilleaux is pleased to announce our Spring Scholarship. BLUE STAR MOTHERS OF LOUISIANA CHAPTER 1 SCHOLARSHIP: The Camille Alyse Begnaud Military Scholarship for Educational Advancement – Big Dipper is awarded annually to retired, honorably discharged, active duty, or a member of the National Guard or Reserve. The scholarship is to provide financial assistance for service members, or veterans to aide in completing their educational goals without incurring excessive student loan debt. It’s just another way to say “thank you” to those who deserve it the most. Applications must be received at the BSM of Louisiana Chapter 1 office by March 31, 2019, to be considered for the award. Submissions received after the deadline will not receive consideration. The Scholarship Committee recommends that applications be sent via registered certified mail or email. The Scholarship Committee is not responsible for non-performance on the part of the mail. No faxed copies will be accepted.

COCODRIE FLY FISHING FOUNDATION EDUCATION AWARD – CFF is proud to offer quarterly awards to university and college students! This scholarship will be awarded to a citizen or a Permanent Resident of the United States who is enrolled and taking classes at an accredited college or university in the United States. CFF will grant selected applicants a $1,500 financial award for their compelling essays on fishing, outdoors and adventure activities. Each quarter, 1 student will be awarded a $1,500 scholarship. COMMUNITY SERVICES BLOCK GRANT (CSBG): Lafourche Parish Office of Community Action – program goals – CSBG is designed to address the needs of low-income individuals, to improve living conditions and increase self-sufficiency. The Lafourche Parish Office of Community Action is committed to providing services and activities that will facilitate in addressing the needs of those  meeting eligibility requirements. Services and activities include training on employment, education, budgeting/financial planning, housing, nutrition, etc. Services: one month’s rent mortgage, utility disconnections, lodging, food vouchers, commodity distribution, tuition/books, school/work uniforms, client education, and referrals. Daniel K. Shipp Scholarship: The scholarship award is available to undergraduate students preferably enrolled in majors geared toward a Safety and Health career (such as, but not limited to, Environmental Science, Fire Protection, Health Physics, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Safety, etc.) who are currently registered as full-time students in North America. A full-time student is one who is carrying 12 credit hours per semester, trimester or quarter. Applicants must have at least one full year of study remaining in their degree program.

DREAM BIG SCHOLARSHIP: At Big Blanket Co we believe everyone – regardless of — ethnicity, background and income level — should be able to dream BIG. We envision a future where prospects, opportunities and access to essential needs like education are more readily available to everyone than they are today. That’s why we’ve created our DREAM BIG SCHOLARSHIP.

We are offering a $1,500 scholarship to two exceptional students per year in the hopes of making a small difference in their lives. To qualify:

HORATIO ALGER ASSOCIATION CAREER & TECHNICAL SCHOLARSHIPS: The Career & Technical Scholarship Program is funded through the Horatio Alger Endowment Fund and the generosity of Association Chairman Emeritus and Endowment Fund President Walter Scott, Jr. Scholarships are awarded to students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their lives who wish to pursue a career or technical education at an accredited non-profit post-secondary institution in the United States. 2018 TYPOLOGY CENTRAL PERSONALITY TYPE SCHOLARSHIP: The scholarship is available to those who have completed at least 15 credit hours. Applications in all major fields of study are eligible.   ($2000/1st prize, $500/2nd prize) 1) An essay of at least 1000 words (personal statement about the use of personality type systems) 2) An easily readable copy of your transcript 3) a list of academic and/or non-academic awards and achievements.

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR MILITARY VETERANS: Many private companies and veteran service organizations award scholarships annually that help veterans go back to school. One such scholarship is the AMVET Scholarship Program. Eligible veterans can get up to $1,000 annually up to four years.

SHELL:  Applicants selected for this scholarship must be pursing the following degree options: Machine Tool, Electrical, IPT, and Welding. Requirements:  2.5 GPA, Full time or part time student

KALU YALA SCHOLARSHIP: The Kalu Yala scholarship was created with the future entrepreneurs and business people at Fletcher Technical Community College in mind. We hope that this scholarship helps someone get a little closer to their dream career. Applicants will be required to write a 500-word essay to be considered for this $1000 scholarship. A committee will select one winner based on their essay at the end of December 2018. To be eligible for the Kalu Yala Scholarship you have to meet one of the following criteria: High school senior that has been accepted into a college or university. Current college or university student that is not in their final semester. This includes all education levels (undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate). Guidelines: To apply for this scholarship you must write a 500-word essay on the topic: “The Main Benefits of Studying Abroad”. KARL JOBST SCHOLARSHIP: The Karl Jobst Scholarship was created to provide support aspiring dentists, dental hygienists and those who wish to work in academia at Fletcher Technical Community College! Students from all majors and areas of study are encouraged to apply.

To be eligible, each applicant will be asked to submit a short essay discussing your strengths and unique traits and how they will help you in the future. The award for this scholarship is $1,000 and all applications must be submitted by May 1st, 2019. At the conclusion of the application period, a committee will confer and select a winner by May 30, 2019. The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded by June 31, 2018.

LAFOURCHE CHAMBER FOUNDATION: The Lafourche Chamber Foundation is accepting scholarship applications through Monday, April 22, 2019 from high school seniors graduating from the designated Lafourche Parish and Grand Isle schools on the application form and rules attached. Scholarship recipients or a parent or guardian of the scholarship recipient must be a Lafourche Chamber of Commerce member in good standing, or the employee of a Lafourche Chamber of Commerce member in good standing. The scholarship recipient must also be attending either Nicholls State University or Fletcher Technical Community College in the Fall of 2019. LAWNSTARTER: The Lawntrepreneur Scholarship is our way of funding tomorrow’s top entrepreneurs. Either way, if you’ve got the entrepreneurial bug in you, then we want to help fund your dream. We’re fixing the large and disorganized lawn care industry, and we’re willing to grant $1000 to any student we believe has the potential to change the world through entrepreneurship. MARK ALVARADO SCHOLARSHIP:  was created to help the future generations get the education they need to survive once they enter adulthood. It’s no secret that the cost of education is always increasing and Mark Alvarado has made it his mission to take at least a small part of the burden off of one student’s shoulder each year. MARINE CORPS SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION: Our scholarships are for children of Marines and Navy Corpsmen pursuing a post-secondary education at any accredited school—whether that be a career training or trade school, community college, or four-year university. RUSTY TWEED DRUG FREE SCHOLARSHIP: The Rusty Tweed Drug Free Scholarship was created to help encourage our younger generation to pursue their dream of obtaining their degree. This is the 2nd annual scholarship. High school seniors that have been accepted into a college or a university and current college and university students are encouraged to apply.  WOMEN’S BUSINESS ALLIANCE:  Applicant must be a female graduating high school in Terrebonne, Lafourche, or Assumption parishes. THIBODAUX SERVICE LEAGUE SCHOLARSHIP: Applicant is awarded for one semester  and must be a full time student in good standing and in at least his or her second year with a semester cumulative grade-point average of at least 2.5. Besides being of outstanding character and reputation, the applicant must have a background of volunteerism in the community or at Fletcher. TRANSCANADA COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIPS: The TransCanada Community Scholarships program aims to develop the local workforce and foster positive relationships where we live, work and operate. As a signature program of our Education & Training community investment focus area, TransCanada Community will be awarding more than $2,000,000 in scholarships to students across North America in 2020.

  • TransCanada Community Leaders Scholarship – 101 scholarships X $2,500 and 1 scholarship X $10,000 – awarded to students who demonstrate a strong commitment to their communities through volunteerism, community participation, leadership and other activities.
  • TransCanada Indigenous Legacy Scholarship – 77 scholarships X $5,000 – Offered to Native American students pursuing any full-time, post-secondary program at a registered education institute.
