External Scholarships
The Associates Home Loan Scholarship was created with our future leaders in mind. Associates Home Loan understands that college prices are rising every year and this scholarship serves the purpose of helping one student lower their tuition expenses by $1000 and to educate the future self employed individuals about their options when it comes to self employed loans and alternative credit options. Applicants will be required to answer a simple question in the form of a 500-word essay and the winner will be selected based on the essay submitted. The Associate Home Loan Scholarship committee will select a winner by the end of April 2019. The $1000 will be sent directly to the winner’s school financial aid department. Eligibility: High school students graduating in 2018 that have been accepted into a college, university, or trade school. Students currently enrolled in a college, university, or trade school that have not yet reached their final year. Guidelines: Associates Home Loan wants to hear your answer to this question, “ What does your dream house look like?” Don’t hold back on details. The University of the Aftermarket Foundation operates the Automotive Aftermarket Scholarships Central website and, along with more than 40 other automotive organizations, awards scholarships to students who apply online. Apply for Automotive Scholarships by the March 31, 2018 deadline at www.automotivescholarships.com. Available scholarships range from $1,000-$10,000 and will be awarded to students attending colleges and ASE/NATEF certified post-secondary Automotive, Collision, HD, or Alternate Fuel programs. The scholarships are open to full time post-secondary students. Graduating high school seniors and former recipients are welcome to apply. Each completed scholarship application is reviewed by the organizations where the student meets the qualifications. Last year, more than 50 students received multiple awards from one application.

Thibodaux City Marshal, Calvin Cooks, Sr., has announced applications are now being accepted for the Thibodaux City Marshal Calvin Cooks, Sr. Scholarship Program. All eligible students in the City of Thibodaux/Ward 2 area are encouraged to apply.
Two (2) $500 scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school students who are planning to attend Nicholls State University or Fletcher Technical Community College. Applicants must be a permanent resident of the City of Thibodaux/Ward 2 area and must be eligible for admission to the school indicated on the application. The award will only be paid for attendance at one of the aforementioned qualifying institutions as a full-time, undergraduate student. The scholarship is a gift, not a loan, and is awarded to defray the rising costs of tuition and related expenses in higher education. There are no restrictions on the purposes for which the scholarship is spent. The Thibodaux City Marshal Calvin Cooks, Sr. Scholarship Program awards scholarships to provide assistance to worthy students living in the City of Thibodaux/Ward 2 area in furthering their education and training with resources made available from personal funds of Calvin Cooks, Sr.
The Camille Alyse Begnaud Military Scholarship for Educational Advancement - Big Dipper is awarded annually to retired, honorably discharged, active duty, or a member of the National Guard or Reserve. The scholarship is to provide financial assistance for service members, or veterans to aide in completing their educational goals without incurring excessive student loan debt. It’s just another way to say “thank you” to those who deserve it the most. Please email bsmscholarship@bluestarmoms.net to obtain an application. All applications must be post marked by March 31st. The Scholarship Committee recommends that applications be sent via registered certified mail or email. The Scholarship Committee is not responsible for non-performance on the part of the mail. CFF is proud to offer quarterly awards to university and college students! This scholarship will be awarded to a citizen or a Permanent Resident of the United States who is enrolled and taking classes at an accredited college or university in the United States. The Lafourche Chamber Foundation awards scholarships to eligible high school seniors graduating from either South Lafourche High School, Central Lafourche High School, Thibodaux High School, E.D. White Catholic High School, Virtual Academy of Lafourche or Grand Isle High School. The scholarships may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Nicholls State University Award – $4,000 scholarship distributed at $500 per semester for those who remain qualified, to be paid directly to Nicholls State University in the award recipient’s name at the start of each semester, beginning the fall semester immediately following high school graduation. To receive subsequent distributions in a timely manner, the award recipient must submit their last semester’s grades and their next semester’s class schedule to the Lafourche Chamber Foundation prior to the next semester’s start date in order to determine eligibility.
- Fletcher Technical Community College Award – $2,000 scholarship distributed at $500 per semester for those who remain qualified, to be paid directly to Fletcher Technical Community College in the award recipient’s name at the start of each semester, beginning the fall semester immediately following high school graduation. To receive subsequent distributions in a timely manner, the award recipient must submit their last semester’s grades and their next semester’s class schedule to the Lafourche Chamber Foundation prior to the next semester’s start date in order to determine eligibility.
Lafourche Chamber Foundation Scholarship Application
Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre has announced applications are now being accepted for the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Association annual scholarship. All eligible students in Lafourche Parish are encouraged to apply. The $500 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school student who attends Nicholls State University or Fletcher Technical Community College. An applicant must be a permanent resident of Lafourche Parish and must be eligible for admission to the school indicated on the application. The award will only be paid for attendance at one of the aforementioned qualifying institutions as a full-time, undergraduate student. The scholarship is awarded as a gift, not a loan, and is awarded to defray the rising costs of tuition and related expenses in higher education. There are no restrictions on the purposes for which the scholarship is spent. Applications are available for download online at www.LPSO.net/scholarship. Completed applications can be turned in at any Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office location or mailed to Captain Brennan Matherne, P.O. Box 5608, Thibodaux, LA 70302. All applications must be received by the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office no later than Thursday, April 1, 2021. An independent selection committee will review the applications and select a winner to be announced in May. There are no restrictions on applicants by reason of race, creed, color, age or national origin. The Louisiana Sheriffs’ Scholarship Program awards scholarships in all 64 parishes, providing assistance to worthy Louisiana students in furthering their education and training with resources made available through the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Honorary Membership Program.
Louisiana One Call is in their inaugural year of offering scholarships to students. The organization intends to award two academic awards and two technical scholarships in the amount of $811 each. The link is below:

The Thibodaux Service League will award a scholarship to a graduate of E.D. White Catholic High School or a graduate of Thibodaux High School. Recipient must be a first-time freshman at Fletcher Technical Community College and must have maintained a 3.00 GPA in high school. The scholarship of $1,000 ($500 per semester) will be awarded for two consecutive semesters to a student who demonstrates financial need. To maintain the scholarship for the second semester, the student must be considered full-time and must maintain a minimum 2.50 GPA. Preference will be given to students who have participated in community service activities, whether through service organizations in high school or on their own initiative. The applicant must supply a resume or letter explaining their service.
The Thibodaux Service League scholarship application
The TransCanada Community Scholarships program aims to develop the local workforce and foster positive relationships where we live, work and operate. As a signature program of our Education & Training community investment focus area, TransCanada Community will be awarding more than $2,000,000 in scholarships to students across North America in 2020.
- TransCanada Community Leaders Scholarship – 101 scholarships X $2,500 and 1 scholarship X $10,000 - awarded to students who demonstrate a strong commitment to their communities through volunteerism, community participation, leadership and other activities.
- TransCanada Indigenous Legacy Scholarship – 77 scholarships X $5,000 - Offered to Native American students pursuing any full-time, post-secondary program at a registered education institute.
- TransCanada Trades Scholarship – 56 scholarships X $2,500 and 1 scholarship X $10,000 - Offered to students who are entering or enrolled in a qualifying trades program at a registered education institute. This includes, but is not limited to, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, welding, pipe fitting, and related positions etc.

Walter Morales is an entrepreneur, educator, and charter school founder based in Baton Rouge, LA who is active in improving the urban education system. After the success of his recent scholarship fund, Walter wants to help the next generation of educators in the United States and would like to give back through the “Walter Morales Grant for Future Educators”. This grant is available for students in the United States who are currently enrolled in a university, and high school students who have plans to attend a university. The scholarship is meant to help a deserving student with scholarship funding who wishes to become an educator and has a passion for urban education.

The application period is now open for the Watermark Scholars program!
Watermark is offering women in STEM scholarships for the fall 2021 academic term to provide much-needed support for college students pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)-related studies and careers.
Two students will be selected from the pool of applicants, and awardees will each receive $5,000 to help continue their education.
To participate in the Watermark Scholars program, applicants are asked to submit either a written essay, up to 500 words, or a short video on the topic of “Who has inspired you to pursue a career in science or technology, and what do you want to achieve upon graduation?” We’re looking for students who have been inspired by recent events and changes in learning and want to make a difference in their careers!

The Women’s Business Alliance is now accepting applications for its Academic Scholarship Program.
The program, which will award two $1,000 scholarships, is available to two types of female students pursuing higher education: the graduating high-school senior and the non-traditional student.
- The nontraditional student is one age 25 or older who has returned to a Louisiana college to pursue a degree. Nontraditional applicants must be residents of Terrebonne and/or Lafourche Parishes. Nontraditional applicants must be undergraduate students who have completed one semester of college and have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
- Graduating seniors must be residents of Terrebonne and/or Lafourche Parishes and have a cumulative grade-point average of at least a 3.0 and be entering a Louisiana college..
The scholarship program embodies the Women’s Business Alliance mission of improving the quality of life for women by empowering them in professional endeavors and personal relationships. Nontraditional Student Application
The Molly C. and Larene B. Woodard Nursing Scholarships for undergraduate Louisiana nursing students have been offered since 2009 and are administered by the Louisiana Nurses Foundation (LNF). We are indebted to the legacy and estate of Mr. E. Scott Woodard for providing almost 90 nursing scholarships to date. These scholarship awards are based on eligibility and financial need. Students must be attending a state-approved school of nursing of their choice that prepares students for initial licensure as Registered Nurses.
Scholarship Requirements:
- completed first clinical direct patient care nursing course
- minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
- enrolled as full-time student
