The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Core curriculum is a prerequisite to all other Level 1 craft curriculum.  Modules covered include Safety, Construction Math, Hand Tools, Power Tools, Construction Drawings, Communication Skills, Employability Skills, and Material Handling.  This curriculum gives the student an introduction to the topics and practical basic skills needed to continue education in any craft area.  Upon successful completion of the course, the student will earn the achievement of the NCCER Core Certification, which is nationally recognized.

This course is primarily online but does require face-to-face sessions for a skills competency check and proctored exams.  The face-to-face sessions will be located at Fletcher’s Thibodaux Facility (1425 Tiger Drive, Thibodaux).

Scholarships are available.

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must successfully complete the course. The cost is $1,000 if the student does not successfully complete the course.
