Fletcher partnering with Ochsner and LCMC Healthcare systems
Schriever, LA – The Greater New Orleans Foundation (GNOF) awards Fletcher Technical Community College, Ochsner Healthcare System, and LCMC Health $66,200 to develop a customized and comprehensive workforce training program for career advancement focused on incumbent workers and community career seekers. This program is titled MLT (Medical Laboratory Technician) Ready. The intent of this program is to provide the education and training needed to propel individuals up the Laboratory career ladder into a high-demand occupation. The Associate of Applied Science Degree will focus on intense online, hybrid and internships to assure students have the knowledge base to obtain the degree and advance as a MLT. Students will be required to meet admission requirements of which is completion of 16 hours of General Education courses. The students admitted to the MLT program will progress through a rigorous curriculum of components necessary to meet the demands and knowledge base of a successful MLT. The program is one year in length from admission into the program to completion. Once students successfully complete the program they will then be eligible to sit for the National MLT Certification.
