100% Job Placement in Cardiopulmonary Care Science Program


Schriever, LA – Fletcher Technical Community College proudly announces that all thirteen students in Cardiopulmonary Care Science Program “Class of 2018” were offered employment. The following hospitals are Children’s Hospital of New Orleans, Ochsner Baptist, Ochsner Medical Center Jefferson Hwy, Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Southwest Alaska Regional Health Consortium, Touro, and West Jefferson Medical Center.

The commencement ceremony for the program is Thursday, July 26, 2018 at the main campus in Schriever 6:30 pm. The students will graduate with an Associate of Science Degree in Cardiopulmonary Care Science and take Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) exam through National Board for Respiratory Care to become certified. The Cardiopulmonary Care Science program is accredited by Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC). Fletcher has been offering the Cardiopulmonary Care Science Program for eight years.

Chancellor Dr. Kristine Strickland commented, “We would like to congratulate the Cardiopulmonary Care Science graduating class on their exceptional academic performance. A true testament to the achievements of these students and the quality of the program at Fletcher is indicated by the 100% placement rate of our students. Fletcher recognizes that our work is aligned with the needs of our business and industry partners and we are pleased that so many organizations have recognized the quality of our graduates and have offered them positions. We wish our students the best of luck as they begin their new careers in healthcare.”

Program Overview:
Cardiopulmonary Care Science Program prepares individuals to treat patients ranging from premature infants to the elderly with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary illnesses. Graduates of the program work with patients on mechanical ventilation to maintain life support such as oxygenation, ventilation and airway management. They treat patients with pulmonary disease who have under-developed lungs and patients with chronic lung disease. They play a vital role in many areas of health care.
