Individuals interested in becoming an electric utility line worker can attend an information session on Thursday, October 26 at 10:00 a.m. at Fletcher’s BP Integrated Production Technologies building located at 224 Weatherford Drive, Schriever. In addition to learning details about the Certified Line Worker Training Program, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in activities that demonstrate a day in the life of a line worker.
Graduates of the 16-week Certified Line Worker Training Program will obtain NCCER certification, be qualified for employment as a line helper and receive job placement assistance. The Certified Line Worker Training Program is a partnership of the Louisiana Energy Workforce Consortium and the Louisiana Community Technical College System.
Fletcher Technical Community College and Delgado Community College will be the first schools to over the Certified Line Worker Training Program beginning in January 2018.
