Financial Aid Forms

Once you have completed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and your FAFSA has been processed by both the Department of Education and Fletcher, you will begin receiving communication regarding your financial aid.  If you have not yet applied for admission into Fletcher, you should do so as soon as possible as some financial aid is first-come, first-served. Once your FAFSA has been processed by Fletcher, you will receive communication either by email or mail.  The communication you receive may instruct you to submit documents.  Your FAFSA may be selected for a process called verification.  Verification is a review process in which the Office of Finanical Aid determines the accuracy of the information provided on the student's financial aid application.  During the verification process, the student and parent (if applicable) will be required to submit documentation for the amounts listed (or not listed) on the financial aid application.  Such documentation may include tax transcripts of the most recent Federal income tax returns for you, your spouse (if any), and your parents, copies of W2s, and 1099 forms, among other things.  Financial aid applications are randomly selected by the federal processor for verfication.  If there is an asterisk next to the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) figure on your Student Aid Report (SAR), your SAR had been selected for verification. If you have been instructed to submit documents to the Financial Aid Office, you will find the documents listed below:

TAX RETURN TRANSCRIPT: You may also be instructed to submit taxes for you, your spouse, and/or your parents.  Tax forms (1040, 1040A/EZ, etc.) are no longer accepted.  If you are instructed to submit a copy of your taxes, you MUST submit an official IRS Tax Transcript.  You may contact the IRS at (800) 829-1040 or go online to www.irs.gov to request a tax transcript. Schools may also select additional students for verfication.  If any discrepancies are uncovered during verification, the financial aid office may require additional information to clear up the discrepancies.  If you refuse to submit the required documentation, your financial aid package will be canceled and no aid will be awarded. If you have additional questions, please contact financial aid at financialaid@fletcher.edu.  Emails will be processed in the order in which they are received.
