Congratulations! to Angie Pellegrin for being selected as Louisiana’s 2017-2018 ACT College and Career Readiness Postsecondary Champion
Schriever, LA – Fletcher Technical Community College is pleased to announce that Angie Pellegrin, Director of Student Retention, has been selected by Louisiana ACT Council as 2017-2018 ACT College and Career Readiness Postsecondary Champion. Angie has worked at Fletcher for over 9 years and she is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She is the College’s on-staff counselor and directs the Student Success Center which houses testing, advising, disability services and tutoring.
“It is an honor to have ACT recognize the hard work and dedication of Angie. Angie demonstrates daily her commitment to helping Fletcher students achieve their goals. Her work is essential to our students’ success and we are proud that she has been recognized as an ACT Louisiana Postsecondary Champion,” states Chancellor Kristine Strickland.
Angie and her family are invited to attend the 2018 Louisiana ACT Pre-Symposium on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Louisiana Governor’s Mansion. The keynote speaker is Louisiana’s First Lady, Donna Edwards. At the symposium, the Louisiana ACT Council will recognize the Louisiana’s 2017-2018 ACT College and Career Readiness Champions.
ACT State Councils, comprised of education and workforce professionals in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, lead the initiative in their respective states. These Councils provide opportunities for diverse groups of education and workplace professionals to connect, allowing ideas and issues to intersect as members learn from one another and unify in purpose. These Councils drive application efforts and serve as the selection committee to determine state champions.
The ACT College and Career Readiness Postsecondary Champion is an individual who assists underrepresented or underserved students in navigating their future educational and professional career. ACT College and Career Readiness Champions personify the mission of ACT through intentional actions that create an atmosphere and culture which promotes college and career readiness for all. ACT recognizes these individuals who are making a positive impact on their communities through their efforts to advance college and career activities.
