Stepping into Leadership

This course is designed for first time Team Leaders and Supervisors but can benefit anyone that a company would like to have leadership training. Prior to the start of the course each participant will be given a Knowledge Check Handout. This handout will also be given at the end of the course to gauge learning. The course discusses supervisor pitfalls such as micromanagement and handling difficult situations and how to avoid or deal with them. Many supervisors wonder how did they end up in a leadership role once they are there and realize the responsibility. This course discusses qualities of a leader and enhancing leadership qualities. They will learn how to communicate their expectations, how to give employee feedback and establish boundaries for employees. Case histories will be read and discussed.

Conflict Management

This course is designed for Managers, front line leaders, supervisors, team leaders, group leaders and others who are responsible for maximizing the performance of others. Prior to the start of the course each participant will be given a Knowledge Check Handout. This handout will also be given at the end of the course to gauge learning. Video vignettes will show workplace conflict and the resolution of that conflict. A workbook is provided in this course that will allow participants to take notes during the vignettes and have healthy class discussion afterwards. It will also present case studies and the group will participate in role play activities. It will explain the five steps of the conflict management process and how to apply it. Conflict will happen in every workplace. This course allows you to learn the process of handling it thereby reducing your stress level and making the workplace a healthier and happier place to be.

Team Building

The purpose of this course is to aid participants in identifying and enhancing interpersonal skills needed to support more effective team interactions. Participants will be given the tools to create an outcome that will exceed what they could have achieved individually by having many team building exercises and discussions. Throughout the course, participants will explore how to develop skills, such as building a strong team that has good communication and positive reinforcement. All aspects of this course address the challenges of working with different personalities to make a cohesive team and enjoy professional success with personal enrichment that teams can bring.

Insights to Successful Grant Writing

This course is designed for individuals who wish to gain knowledge and expertise in the area of grant writing. The course will begin with an introduction to grant funding and its role in the development of nonprofits and progress through the skills needed to produce a competitive grant proposal. Using interactive learning, participants will focus on the decision points involved in grant proposal development:  planning, research, evaluation techniques, budgeting and aligning grant proposals with the objectives of funding agencies. Upon completion of this course, participants will be prepared to locate, research and develop a rough draft grant proposal. This course will be taught in a computer lab. Participants will use Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.

In addition, participants should bring a USB jump drive in order to save their work. Participants are encouraged to bring projects to class.

7 Strategies to Create Profitable Sales

This course will identify and detail seven strategies to create profitable sales. All of the material covered in this program has been proven through the actual application of these strategies.  Gross sales are not an accurate indicator of how your business is performing. We show you what to pay attention to and how to determine what part of your market you should be concentrating on. Then we reveal how to grow your sales in that defined market. Introduction to Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD)

This course introduces the concepts and principles of CADD. Student will learn file management, drawing setups, application of graphic and geometric controls, and complete single and multi-view drawings. This course applies commands such as layer controls, editing and dimensioning commands, and plotting equipment.

Addiction in the Workplace

Substance abuse is a major problem in the workplace that safety managers and supervisors must address daily. This course is designed to make you are of the nature and extent of substance abuse in the workplace and help you develop an approach to handling these problems. Initially, we will study alcohol and other drugs, licit and illicit (including prescription and over-the-counter drugs) that can effect human behavior and/or performance in the work place Then, we will look at the components of programs designed to attack the problem of substance abuse in the workplace.

This course will explore leaders and leadership situations. The objective of the course is to extract insights, which can be applied to the approach to and perceptions of leadership.  The course will examine how to develop as leaders and common characteristics among them.
